Training

Often,  when most people hear about an upcoming training initiative, their first thought
is:  “Blah,  Training  is   boring.”   At  the  Village  Circle  Company,  we’ve  dedicated
ourselves to recreating and re-energizing the entire concept of corporate training.  We
do  that  by  incorporating  artistic  elements such as music, performance art, graphic
art,  improv  comedy,  video  elements  and  outdoor adventures into our sessions. By
incorporating  these  essentials and leveraging industry best practices, even the most
mundane  topics become  vibrant learning experiences. Our unique approach ensures
that  the  concepts  taught  become  “stickier”   and  much  more  memorable  for  all
participants.

What  can  your  organization  expect  to  gain  from  a  training  session  where your
employees,  teammates,  and  coworkers  are truly engaged in the learning process?

  • Engaging  training  allows  for total assimilation (see case study, below) of the
data  or  knowledge  presented,  and therefore gives individuals the information
and  ability  to  improvise should a unique situation require it.  (By comparison,
standard  training  provides a series of steps within a process, but no ability to
see or problem-solve outside of that process.)

  • Employees  who  take a  hands-on, excited approach to training have a vested
interest in the success of that training.

  • Creative  energy  is contagious!  It inspires employees and encourages loyalty
to your corporate cause. What other areas of your business could benefit from
    energized employees?

Case Study:  A  large  international  retail  company  needed to convert its entire back office software system to a new
internet  based  application.  The  Village  Circle  Company, working with its partners at Impact21Group, developed and
executed a unique, experiential hands-on training session.  Outstanding elements of that training included:

  • Detailed, step-by-step instruction on a complex software application
  • Instruction on the change management aspects of the implementation, including overall process explanation,
help desk support, and technical details
  • Hands-on exercises created to provide participants real-time experience
  • Creative, energy driving exercises including improv comedy and role-playing

The results:  The  company has consistently returned extremely positive feedback on the energy, motivation, and level
of  knowledge  retention  that  has  been  gained  since  the  implementation  of the new education model.  Through the
training  experience,  participants  were  given  the opportunity to test their knowledge of the topics by playing an active
role  in  the  creative  and  unique exercises.  As a result: their memory of the activity now bolsters their memory of the
information;  and,  they  have  an  opportunity to bring their knowledge of these topics into “less than typical” situations,
thereby growing their ability to adapt to changing situations back at the workplace.
We’re  encouraged  by  what we’ve
been   able   to   accomplish   with
our    methods.    Throughout   our
experience  in  corporate   training,
we’ve   seen  first-hand   how   our
methodologies   change   the  way
people   work   and   interact   with
each   other.  Successful   training
also   boosts  the morale and self-
esteem  of   those  involved  in  the
training – and drives greater results
for your organization!
